While the New York Giants scored their first win of the season over the weekend against the previously undefeated Los Angeles Chargers, it extracted a heavy toll as the team lost star wide receiver Malik Nabers for the rest of a season to a torn ACL.

The 22-year-old star wideout wasn’t prepared to let his injury derail his life outside of football, however, as the Pro Bowler was in attendance at an NBA Youngboy concert just a day after suffering the brutal injury, which is just the latest in a long line of ACL tears suffered at MetLife Stadium in recent years.

NBA Youngboy, real name Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, is known for his singles “Untouchable, “No Smoke”, and “Bandit”, and has sold over 85 million digital copies online.

Malik Nabers wasn’t the only current NFL/former LSU wideout to attend one of NBA Youngboy’s shows this weekend, as Patriots pass catcher Kayshon Boutte also shared a photo from the event on his Instagram Stories.

Prior to the injury, Nabers had 18 catches for 271 yards and two touchdowns on the season.

After Nabers injury — which will see him miss the remainder of the 2025 season in the hopes of being healthy for 2026 — former New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. publicly begeed the NFL to do something about the infamously snake-bitten turf at MetLife Stadium.

“Dear @NFL , I mean this with the upmost love and respect. We (The NFL) take all The precautions in the world with EVERYthing else when it comes to players ‘health’ and ‘safety’. PLZ. PLZ. PLZ. GET RID OF THE TURF. Thank You in advance,” Beckham tweeted on Sunday night after Nabers’ injury.

“Respect and u kno I loveeeee the giants , but DeathLife has taken too many talented players away from the game. I kno it’s not ALL the turfs fault but at least maybe it to where we’ve gotten all research done to if TURF has to stay it’s at the HIGHEST of quality possible. At least can we start the discussion.”

Since 2020, Nick Bosa, Solomon Thomas, Jabrill Peppers, Wan’Dale Robinson, Sterling Shepard, Kyle Fuller, and Aaron Rodgers suffered serious tendon injuries while playing at MetLife, with Nabers just being the latest in that pattern.

The loss of Nabers’ will be a particularly sour pill for Giants fans to swallow as it came on the same day that rookie QB Jaxson Dart made his debut and injected new energy into the franchise.
