New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers deleted this tweet shortly after posting it, but unfortunately for Nabers, it’s not that easy. The internet is forever.
Thanks to the quick eye of The Athletic’s Dan Duggan, who shared a screenshot of the post, we know what Nabers thinks about Mike Kafka’s decisions in Sunday’s overtime loss against the Detroit Lions.
Nabers is currently on injured reserve, and had surgery to repair a torn ACL in October. Prior to the injury, he started four games for the Giants, contributing 18 catches on 35 targets for 271 yards and two touchdowns.
The Giants offense held its own against the Lions on Sunday. Jameis Winston threw for 366 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception, plus one receiving touchdown on a trick-play pass from Gunner Olszewski, and the team put up over 122 yards on the ground. Wan’Dale Robinson had a particularly strong showing with 156 receiving yards and a touchdown. Yes, the debate about the decision to not kick the field goal is going to continue … but it was in character with Kafka’s aggressive play throughout the game.
Nabers is expected to be able to return to the field for the 2026 season.
