Windy City Gridiron
On her latest Making Mosters, Taylor Doll was joined by former Chicago Bears Pro Bowler, Jerry Azumah, who previews the upcoming Bears’ season. Azumah played cornerback for seven years in Chicago, so you know he had some thoughts on the Bears’ secondary.
“I really like that group,” Azumah said about Chicago’s defensive backs. “I think the group is very athletic. Obviously, they have some veteran leadership that’s there, and they have some all-star presence that’s there as well.”
Right now, it appears the starters will be Jaylon Johnson and Tyrique Stevenson at corner, Kyler Gordon at the nickel, and Coby Bryant and rookie Dillon Thieneman at safety.
“I think Thieneman is going to be a hell of an addition to the secondary, along with the Super Bowl-winning safety as well, with Coby. So I think that they’re going to be a nice one-two punch, but it’s all about gelling. It’s all brand new, but they have all the talent in the world to go out there and be successful and be dominant.”
They talk plenty more about Dennis Allen’s defense, but they also dive into Caleb Williams and the offense, and you know they hit on the third phase as well.
