Someone in production at Fox must have just discovered how to use artificial intelligence (AI) to make videos. What other reason would there have been for the Fox NFL broadcast of the game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks to have used a terrible AI slop video to illustrate the career of Aaron Rodgers?
Surely, Fox could have just had a human videographer grab actual video from Aaron Rodgers’ career and create a nice montage to illustrate the same point, right? Or grabbed some real still photos for a slideshow? Or had a human artist create a series of images that would have accurately reflected Rodgers’ journey from draft night to playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers? Would it have cost Fox a more more dollars? Maybe, maybe not. Would it have looked better? Definitely.

Where to begin? How about AI spelling the word “Champs” on Aaron Rodgers’ Super Bowl t-shirt reading “Chams”? Or the fact that the colors on the Steelers logo on Aaron Rodger’s cap were incorrect and the Nike logo on the shoulder of his Packers jersey was wrong?
Or the NFL logos on Brett Favre and Rodgers’ Green Bay Packers jerseys being wrong? “Favre and Rodgers played together from 2005-07,” read one comment. “NFL didn’t go with the logo we’ve got now (the 8-star logo without the curly L) until 2008.”
And what exactly was the number that was on the Vince Lombardi Trophy Rodgers was holding in the video? “Whatever Roman numeral that is, that’s definitely not XLV,” the same commenter wrote.
“There are literally pictures and video clips easily accessible for anyone of each and every single one of these moments throughout his career,” read one comment. “I can’t express how much I loathe AI and anyone who uses it for content.”
“Using AI when you have ACTUAL REAL VIDEO of the events is not what AI was intended for,” another viewer commented.
“No one likes this except people who are 100 or 10. For the love of god make it stop,” commented another viewer.
“The funniest part is you could pay some random intro to video editing student 50 bucks and they’ll make something much better in like 30 minutes,” someone else wrote.
