Major Update on NY Giants Pursuit of Harbaugh Reveals Desperate Addition to Latest Offer

A new report reveals that the New York Giants are willing to go to some desperate and costly lengths to make sure John Harbaugh is their head coach next season.

The NY Giants’ decision to fire Brian Daboll in November after a 2-8 start was understandable. But it was also an unusual move for the franchise that does not like to make brash moves like firing a head coach in-season. After talking to a couple of candidates in their search for a replacement, earlier this month, the perfect option to succeed Daboll emerged when the Baltimore Ravens fired Harbaugh after 18 seasons last week.

Big Blue has quickly become a top contender for the 63-year-old, and on Wednesday, they had him at their facility for their first official meeting. Throughout the day, rumors have swirled about how aggressively New York has been to sway his decision, and some insiders felt a deal could actually be agreed upon before he left the building.

John Harbaugh Record: 180-113

Reports have suggested the franchise is willing to pay him as much as $20 million a season. However, it seems he is not the only coach the NY Giants are open to throwing a bunch of money at to land Harbaugh. According to SNY NFL insider Connor Hughes, the team is “willing to not only pay him, but also whatever his staff wants.”

Hughes added that sources informed him that the G-Men have made a “massive push” to try to get an agreement done today. Which is understandable, since he is expected to meet with both the Atlanta Falcons and the Tennessee Titans in the next couple of days.

The Falcons are also seen as a strong contender due to the respect Harbaugh has for the new Atlanta President, Matt Ryan.
