SoFi Stadium’s watch party for the Los Angeles Rams’ road game against the Seattle Seahawks drew a surprisingly low crowd, despite the high stakes.
The Los Angeles Rams visited the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field in a highly anticipated ‘Thursday Night Football’ clash. The winner of this game would claim sole possession of first place in the NFC with two weeks to go.
This game appeared to be over when the Rams held a 30-14 lead in the fourth quarter. But Seattle pulled off a stunning 38-37 comeback win in overtime, thanks to a wild one-in-a-billion two-point conversion play that you’ll never see again.
SoFi Stadium held a watch party and played the game on its jumbotron. Yet oddly, the stadium was almost completely empty:
🚨🚨THIS IS PATHETIC🚨🚨
The Los Angeles #Rams had a watch-party at SoFi Stadium tonight for the game versus Seattle, and NO ONE SHOWED UP.
There were fewer than 100 fans who showed up for the watch party.
Awful look for Rams fans… 😬😬😬

We know that fans of opposing teams frequently invade Rams and Los Angeles Chargers home games. But how can a stadium be that empty for a watch party? This was essentially a playoff game, after all.
ESPN’s computer model gives the Rams a 27.9 percent chance of winning the NFC West following Thursday’s loss. The Seahawks are now at 49.8 percent, though they have a demanding remaining schedule with road games against the Carolina Panthers and San Francisco 49ers.
The Rams should actually be 15-0 this season. But Sean McVay’s squad has inexplicably struggled to close out games this year.
They blew a 19-point lead in their Week 3 road loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. They fell 26-23 to the San Francisco 49ers in overtime of Week 5 because of their pathetic execution in the red zone. They coughed up a fourth-quarter lead in their Week 13 road loss to the Carolina Panthers.
Because of their inability to close out games? The Rams are staring at the likelihood of needing three road wins just to reach the Super Bowl. If they got the job done yesterday, they’d be in the driver’s seat for a first-round bye.
