The Los Angeles Chargers are meeting with an old friend in six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Keenan Allen.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport, Keenan Allen is visiting the Chargers today. The 33-year-old spent his first 11 NFL seasons (2013 to 2023) with the Chargers before getting traded to the Chicago Bears last year. Pelissero noted that the two sides have “mutual interest in” reuniting.

Allen was traded to the Bears for a fourth-round pick last year, following rumors that he’d be released in a cap-saving move. The longtime Chargers star caught 70 passes for 744 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games.

One year after releasing fellow former star wideout Mike Williams, the Chargers brought him back in free agency. The 2017 first-round pick, however, decided to retire at the start of training camp.

Now, we wait and see if the Chargers can close out a deal to bring back Keenan Allen.

Allen is a six-time 1,000-yard receiver who has helped the Bolts to playoff appearances in 2013, 2018 and 2022. He has the second-most receiving receptions (904) and receiving yards (10,530) in franchise history, behind only Hall of Fame tight end Antonio Gates (955 catches for 11,841 yards and 116 touchdowns).

Keenan Allen Would Provide A Big Boost To Chargers Offense

The Chargers hit the jackpot with the second-round pick of Ladd McConkey last year, as he turned in a 1,000-yard season to help LA return to the playoffs. They also used a second-round pick on Ole Miss wideout Tre Harris, adding more depth around McConkey and 2023 first-round pick Quentin Johnston.

Add Keenan Allen back to the mix, and the Chargers would have the pieces to churn out a top-five offense in 2025.
