Cincy Jungle
The Cincinnati Bengals were pretty much radio silent during the final days before the NFL trade deadline last week.
Despite a historically bad defense this season, the front office did not believe they needed to bring in any help to boost that side of the football.
Instead, they sent veteran linebacker Logan Wilson to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a 7th-round draft pick.
Wilson had recently been benched for a rookie linebacker duo in Demetrius Knight Jr. and Barrett Carter, and with that, requested to be traded.
Despite being moved to Dallas, Wilson has full intentions of supporting Carter and has clearly made an impact early in his young career.
“He told me even though he’s gone, he’s only a phone call away,” Carter said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com.
“He took me under his wing the day I got drafted. First one to text me. He’s like a big brother, and such a great leader to me ever since that day, Barrett said per Hobson. “Sad to see him go, but I’m happy he’s still chasing his dream and being great because that’s what he is.”
It is good to see Wilson still showing his support for Carter, and I hope he is able to help turn the Cowboys’ defense around this season.
