Michael Penix Jr. likely heard every joke imaginable about his last name growing up.

As he got older, those jokes likely never changed.

Now that he is in the NFL, it appears he still has to deal with folks screwing up his last name.

Unfortunately, typos are a part of life. It really suck when it happens to the Atlanta Falcons quarterback. It happened on the Savannah CBS affiliate during WTOC’s evening news on Wednesday night.

The broadcast aired a segment about a fight during Atlanta’s joint practice with the Titans, which involved Michael Penix Jr.

While they showed Penix addressing the media about the incident, his name would appear at the bottom, showing his name and his position on the team.

Unfortunately, somebody in the back did not spell his name correctly.

They replaced the X in Penix with an S.

This is just as unfortunate as the brawl he was a part of.

The Atlanta Falcons quarterback was surprised to find himself in the middle of a scuffle that interrupted his team’s second joint practice with the Tennessee Titans on Wednesday.

After connecting with Ray-Ray McCloud on a long touchdown pass, Penix said he was “celebrating” with comments when he found himself being thrown to the ground by one or more Tennessee players.

He ended up at the bottom of the pile as everyone started to push and shove.

Can Michael Penix Jr. Live Up To Expectations?

Penix appeared ready for the spotlight, completing 61 of 105 passes for 775 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions in five games during the 2024 season.

Penix Jr. is entering his first season as a full-time starter in the NFL. His teammates and coaches believe the young QB is in store for a special season.

Despite playing in only five games and making three starts, he has already shown himself to be one of the best in the NFL.

Now he needs to put it all together for a full year.
