Lions vs. Bengals live updates: Score, highlights, drive-by-drive analysis
Pride of Detroit Pride of Detroit

The Detroit Lions are trying to move their winning streak to four in row this week, as the face the Cincinnati Bengals on the road. After a rough opening to the season, the Lions have seemingly found their mojo. They put a hurting on the Chicago Bears, found a way to make a gutsy win on the road against the Baltimore Ravens, and then comfortably took care of business against the Cleveland Browns at home last week.

The Bengals, on the other hand, are headed in the opposite direction. After winning their first two contest, the have dropped the last two… and by a lot. Part of the reason can be attributed to losing star quarterback Joe Burrow, but that’s only part of the story. The Bengals can’t run the ball, either. Their defense has also been way below average against both the pass and the run. In short… nothing seems to be going right. But in the Bengals’ defense, their schedule has been pretty brutal so far. But it won’t get any easier this week against the 3-1 Lions.

The last time the Lions defeated the Bengals was in 1992. Everything is set up for them to reset that clock back to 2025, but anything can happen in the NFL.

So we’ll be providing live updates from Lions vs. Bengals right here. When the game kicks off at 4:25 p.m. ET, check back here, and this post will populate with drive-by-drive analysis, game highlights, score updates, and any injury news that may pop up.

Enjoy, and go Lions!

First quarter

Detroit got the ball first and started with good field position after Jacob Saylors took the opening kickoff across the 40-yard line. The Lions methodically worked their way down the field with a mix of pass and run. The two key plays were both to tight end Sam LaPorta—a 22-yard gain, and a 10-yard touchdown catch and run from LaPorta. 7-0 Lions.
