A look at the best plays from Day 5 of Detroit Lions training camp.
For the first time in all of 2025 Detroit Lions training camp, the team provided some pretty extensive highlights from Friday’s practice, and they are absolutely worth your time. In total, the Lions shared four different videos from camp, and while there is a bit of overlap between the videos, they probably highlighted around 20 different reps, plays, and moments you don’t want to miss from Friday’s practice.
Let’s break it all down here.
This is a pretty awesome moment that Erik Schlitt highlighted in his breakdown of practice, but there’s an added development we didn’t know about. We knew Aidan Hutchinson pulled off a nifty spin move on the very first one-on-one rep of practice. What we didn’t know is that Hutchinson was practicing this move beforehand, was mic’d up, and called his shot that the spin move would work against Penei Sewell. It shows how intentional and detailed Hutchinson is with his pass rush plan.
Neither Erik nor I watched the wide receivers take on the cornerbacks during the 1-on-1 portion of practice, so many of the highlights above were new to us. In particular, Isaac TeSlaa jumped out during these clips for two impressive plays. First, he elevates over nickel corner Avonte Maddox for an impressive contested catch. On the next catch, he sells a great inside move to create several yards of separation from DiCaprio Bootle.
There are all sorts of goodies here: from Jameson Williams’ celebrations, to diving catches, to a sick cutback move from Jahmyr Gibbs—making Brian Branch miss—and finishing with another TeSlaa catch.
If you’ve watched the above highlights, you’ve already seen this play, but it was so good it deserved its own post from the Lions. Kalif Raymond is annually the toughest player to cover during 1-on-1 drills, yet Amik Robertson does it perfectly here. Yes, he gets a little physical at times, but he absolutely blankets Raymond here, and even high-points the ball for the interception. It’s an incredible rep from Robertson.
