Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold has been arrested in Florida on multiple felony charges, as first reported by Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. Arnold’s arrest is in connection with a robbery and kidnapping back in February. Arnold had previously denied any connection to this incident.
“We are aware of the legal situation regarding Terrion Arnold. We will not comment at this time out of respect for the ongoing legal process,” the Lions said in a statement when reached for comment by Birkett. The Lions corner is facing a maximum sentence of life in prison as a result of the charges he currently faces.
The Detroit Free Press obtained police records indicating that Arnold discovered stolen items at a rental property in Florida on February 1. Two days later, he reported the items as stolen to the Largo Police Department. Shortly after making this report, associates of Arnold are accused of kidnapping and assaulting three people they believed to be responsible for robbing the 23-year-old.
Four people, not including Arnold, face life in prison in connection with this alleged incident. Two other people agreed to plea deals in court on Wednesday prior to Arnold’s arrest. The Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office will file a pretrial motion to keep the 23-year-old in jail until his trial begins, according to a press release.
The Lions drafted Arnold in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He has played a total of 24 games in the NFL, all with Detroit. In 2025, he was limited to eight games due to injury. He recorded eight passes defended with one interception and 31 total tackles.
