Lions, Rams inactives, injury news: Taylor Decker WILL PLAY, Kayode Awosika OUT
Pride of Detroit Pride of Detroit

The Detroit Lions (8-5) and Los Angeles Rams (10-3) have declared their inactives ahead of their Week 15 matchup, and the Lions got a bit of good and bad news on the injury front after a week full of bad news.

First, to recap the bad news. The Lions will be without their top three safeties in this game, as Kerby Joseph was ruled OUT on Friday, while Brian Branch was placed on injured reserve, and Thomas Harper was downgraded to OUT on Saturday after not clearing the NFL’s concussion protocol.

Decker has been nursing a shoulder injury all season. While it’s become customary for him to miss a practice or two during the week as part of his injury management plan, he missed all three practices this week, raising some concerns about his availability for this game.

Fortunately, Decker’s absences were just for rehabilitation purposes, and he IS ACTIVE for this game and is expected to start at left tackle.

Unfortunately, there’s a bit more bad news. Kayode Awosika, who had been starting at left guard in place of Christian Mahogany (on injured reserve), will miss his second game with a foot injury. Look for the Lions to once again turn to veteran Trystan Colon to start, while also mixing in rookie Miles Frazier to get some reps.

With two players elevated for this game, the Lions’ roster sits at 55 players on the game-day roster, and with 48 eligible to play, Detroit needs to declare seven players inactive for today’s matchup.
