Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell provided an encouraging injury update on cornerback Morice Norris after he was taken away in an ambulance in Friday night’s game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Morice Norris was injured on the first play of the fourth quarter during a tackle attempt on Nathan Carter. Norris went down to the ground, and trainers moved quickly to treat the second-year corner before he was driven away in an ambulance, and officials decided to suspend the game.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Dan Campbell announced that Norris had been taken to a local hospital, was breathing, talking, and showing some movement. Norris’ mother also accompanied him to the hospital.

Players on both teams gathered around to pray after the terrifying scene. The decision was made soon after to suspend the game, but it remains to be seen if the league will decide to finish it.
Norris was signed by the Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2024 after a two-year stint at Fresno State. He appeared in two games as a rookie, seeing the majority of his snaps on the special teams unit.
