Detroit Lions Aidan Hutchinson shared a rehab video on Monday, it sure looks like he’ll be a full go for offseason activities.
The Detroit Lions are going to be expecting big things from defensive end Aidan Hutchinson in 2025, despite coming off a major injury. That’s because Hutchinson is expected to make a full recovery from the brutal fracture of his tibia and fibula, suffered in the Lions’ Week 6 blowout of the Dallas Cowboys.
Hutchinson insisted for the past couple months that he was going to be ready to play in the Super Bowl if the Lions got there. And while we will never know whether that’s true for certain, we do know that now—almost exactly four months since the injury—Hutchinson is running again.
On Monday. Hutchinson shared a video of him at the Lions’ training facility running not quite full speed, but not that far off. Take a look:
“Gotta blast” is the caption to the video.
Last year, Hutchinson was making an early run for Defensive Player of the Year. Through five weeks of the season, Hutchinson led the NFL with 7.5 sacks and a whopping 45 pressures, according to PFF. Despite missing the final 12 games of the regular season and one playoff game, Hutchinson was only surpassed by Levi Onwuzurike (47) for pressures on the Lions defense.
With six months of offseason until even the preseason begins, there’s no reason to believe Hutchinson can’t pick up right where he left off. Remember that Hutchinson broke his ankle in college and then proceeded to have his best season with the Michigan Wolverines the next season. That year (2021), Hutchinson finished second in Heisman voting after producing 62 tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss, 14 sacks and two forced fumbles.
Here’s hoping Hutchinson dominates like that in 2025.
