Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold has reportedly been arrested as Florida police plan to charge him on multiple felony charges, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. Arnold has been accused of orchestrating “the kidnapping and robbery” of his personal driver and two of the driver’s associates. Per Birkett, Arnold “categorically denies any involvement in the matter” as he voluntarily surrendered in response to the warrant for his arrest.

Back in February, Arnold’s attorney declared in a statement that he “had no involvement whatsoever’ in a kidnapping and robbery plot that had been carried out weeks before. Five people had been arrested in the case, and Arnold had been named an associate of the detainees but had not been charged himself. The statement claimed that Arnold “did not participate in, nor was he present for, any conduct related to the alleged offenses.”

Arnold had reported to police at the time that his AirBNB rental unit in Largo, FL, had been robbed of “designer bags, $100,000 in cash, an $80,000 necklace, and a cell phone issued to Arnold by the NFL.” Arnold reportedly accused his driver of arranging the original theft. At the time, prosecutors alleged that Arnold’s childhood best friend, Boakai Hilton Jr., had orchestrated the response as revenge. Hilton and four others were arrested under charges ranging from kidnapping to aggravated battery.

A female in the group, who is “characterized as Arnold’s girlfriend,” allegedly lured a friend of the driver and another friend to her Tampa apartment, where two of the men arrested were hiding with guns. The driver’s associates were reportedly held “hostage in the bedroom” where they were allegedly beaten and interrogated. When the driver later entered the apartment, a member of the crew reportedly “stuck the barrel of his firearm into (the driver’s) mouth (and demanded) he return the stolen property.”
