The Steelers have new throwbacks on the way...
Lost in the NFL’s 2025 schedule release was the announcement that the Steelers will be debuting new throwback uniforms Week 8 against the Green Bay Packers.
The Oct. 26 game will be at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday Night Football against another historic franchise — the perfect time to reveal a throwback look. Pittsburgh already has its well-loved “block number” throwbacks, but another wardrobe option is on the way.
Steelers president Art Rooney II said the team will be getting new throwback uniforms this season, but he didn’t say what they would be.
There are a couple strong options to choose from:
The above options are the most likely (with the addition of a few long-shots), but you can browse the Steelers’ full uniform history on the team website here.
If I had to choose, I’d bring back the bumblebee uniforms. Yeah, they’re ugly, but they have personality, charm, and plenty of nostalgia from Ben Roethlisberger’s six-touchdown day wearing those polarizing stripes against the Colts in 2014. The Steelers have enough great-looking uniforms that a singular fun option won’t hurt.
That being said, I don’t think there’s a bad option on the entire list. Just don’t wear the bumblebees more than once a year.
