We continue our ‘85 at 40 series with a fantastic interview with the Seattle Seahawks assistant head coach, Leslie Frazier. Frazier has had a fantastic coaching career. He’s been a defensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals, Minnesota Vikings, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Buffalo Bills. He oversaw several excellent defensive units. He was also the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings.

Before Frazier was a coach, he was an outstanding cornerback for the Chicago Bears. His final year was the 1985 season. Not because Frazier retired after the game, but because he suffered a career-ending injury.

We spoke with Frazier about that fantastic season, what it was like suffering that injury in the Super Bowl, his unsuccessful rehabilitation, his pivot into coaching, his thoughts on Mike Ditka and Buddy Ryan, and his participation in the Super Bowl Shuffle! There’s so much great content in here, you just have to sit down and enjoy the conversation.
