Silver And Black Pride
The Las Vegas Raiders playing at the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Kickoff is at 10 a.m. PT. Here are five keys of victory for Raiders:
Stop the Eagles offense:
The Eagles’ offense has struggled at times this season. Still, the unit is loaded with talent and the Raiders’ defense has been getting gutted lately. allowing several long scoring drives. So, the Raiders can’t help the Eagles’ offense wake up. If so, it will be a long day.
Contain Saquon Barkley:
Stopping the Eagles’ offense starts with makin sure running back Saquon Barkley doesn’t have a big day. Barkley has struggled some this season. But the Raiders’ defense has been allowing opponents to run well in recent games. Making sure Barkley doesn’t take over is a main focal point for the Raiders in this game.
Get Ashton Jeanty going:
While stopping Barkley is key for the Raiders, getting their own running game on track is a major need as well. Rookie Ashton Jeanty has struggled to produce for an extended period of time. He is averaging 2.6 yards a carry and 31 rushing yards in the past seven games, all Raiders’ losses. Jeanty, the No. 6 overall draft pick, needs help from the line, but it’s time for a big game from him on the ground.
Be better on third down:
The Raiders have struggled on third down on both offense and defense recently. Offensively, the Raiders 5 of 17 on third down and defensively, their opponents are 19 of 29 on third down in the past two games. That is a recipe for wearing down a defense allowing opponents to dominate the time of possession which is a troubling trend for the Raiders.
Block better:
The Raiders’ offensive line has been an issue all season and it’s not getting better. Las Vegas has allowed four or more sacks in five straight games. The Eagles have a solid defensive front, so this could be a big problem if the Raiders can’t figure out a way to improve their pass protection.
