Other than some draft-pick intrigue, there won’t be a lot of interest in Sunday’s season finale between the Las Vegas Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs at Allegiant Stadium.
However, there will be a storyline that will get some national attention. It may be the final game in the career of Chiefs future Hall of Fame tight end Travis Kelce. He is is expected to decide on his future after the season and there have been some indications that Kelce, 36, may be leaning toward calling it a career.
If that happens don’t expect the Raiders or their fan base to shed a tear. Kelce has been a Raider killer over the years.
According to Statsmuse.com, Kelce has 131 receptions for 1,636 yards and 12 touchdowns in 23 games against the Raiders. That is domination. Of course, the Chiefs have also never lost at Allegiant Stadium in the past five years since it’s been open.
So, if this is it for Kelce, it’s fitting that his final game in an uniform is against the Raiders on the road.
If Kelce does retire, who will you remember him?
