Silver And Black Pride
The Las Vegas Raiders are hosting the Denver Broncos on Sunday. Here is everything to need to know about the game and Silver and Black is here at Allegiant Stadium for it all:
First quarter
The Raiders won the coin toss and deferred to the second half.
The Broncos got the ball first. The Broncos offense, which was not good a month a go when they hosted the Raiders, cruised down the field and quarterback Bo Nix ran in for a touchdown on third and goal from the 8. The drive went 81 yards on 14 plays in on a drive the elapsed 8 minutes, 54 minutes. The Raiders’ season long tackling issues persisted on the drive.
The Raiders answered right back with an excellent drive of their own culminating in a 15-yard touchdown pass from Geno Smith to tight end Brock Bowers to make a 7-7 game at the end of the quarter. Smith was very strong on the drive and Ashton Jeanty ran well. Smith completed all six pass attempts for 53 yards on the drive.
So, far this is a much different game from the 10-7 Denver win in Week 10.
Second quarter:
Raiders’ cornerback Kyu Blu Kelly was injured in the second quarter. He was taken off on a cart. He was ruled out quickly with a knee injury.
A promising Denver drive stalled at the Raiders’ 48-yard line and they had to punt.
The Raiders couldn’t get going on their on their secodnd rive. Smith was sacked twice.
Marvin Mims then returned A.J. Cole’s punt 49 yards for a touchdown to give Denver a 14-7 lead with 6:29 to go in the half.
Another short Raiders’ drive and they are forced to punt again. Smith has been pressured eight times.
The Bronco went for it on fourth down and three from the Raiders’ 43, but got just two yards. The Raiders took over at their own 41 with 22 seconds to go in the half.
Smith was sacked on fourth down and Denver took control of the ball at the Raiders’ 44 with three second to go. A Bo Nix Hail Mary was incomplete in the end zone.
The Raiders’ offense hasn’t gone anything after the first drive.
Broncos 14, Raiders 7 at halftime.
Third quarter:
Two one yards runs by Jeanty and an incomplete pass. Offense woes continue to start third quarter. Smith was favoring his hand and was being looked at by trainers. He stayed in the game.
The Broncos went 91 yards to score a touchdown to take a 2-17 lead with just over four minutes to go in the third quarter on nine minute, 13-second drive.
Denver kickoff went out of bounds and the Raiders got the ball at their own 40.
Fourth quarter:
Kenny Pickett is now in for Smith. The Raiders went for it on fourth goal from the five and didn’t convert.
Smith is out with a shoulder injury.
Raiders are up 24-7 with 3:56 to go.
