The Las Vegas Raiders didn’t kickoff til 1:25 PM PT, and they will kick off with a clinched first overall pick regardless of the result vs Kansas City. Following a 34-17 victory by the New York Giants over the Dallas Cowboys pushing the Giants to 4-13 and out of contention for the first overall selection. At 2-12, the Raiders are guaranteed to pick first overall for the first time since 2007 where they selected LSU QB JaMarcus Russell. The Raiders are likely to select either Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza or Oregon QB Dante Moore with the first overall selection.
In addition, the Raiders are likely to move on from head coach Pete Carroll following reports from various NFL insiders including Jordan Schultz who indicated that Carroll is set to be a one-and-done in Las Vegas. The Raiders will have a new head coach, new quarterback, and the 3rd most cap space in the NFL with an attempt to reset the franchise going forward.
