The Philadelphia Eagles looked like a team on a mission during the second half of the 2024 NFL season and carried that momentum into the playoffs.
The Eagles were the class of the NFC this postseason, defeating the Green Bay Packers in the wild-card round before outlasting a feisty Los Angeles Rams team in the NFC Divisional Round.
Philadelphia impressively defeated the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship Game to reach Super Bowl LIX, where it will try to avenge its Super Bowl LVII loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
By all accounts, the Eagles have what it takes to defeat the Chiefs.
They have the running game, led by Saquon Barkley, and a stout defense.
Philadelphia also boasts one of the best offensive lines in the league, featuring stalwart tackle Lane Johnson.
There was some speculation that Johnson could retire following Super Bowl LIX, but he recently set the record straight on his future.
“I’m definitely not retiring after this game, win or lose,” Johnson said, via Brooks Kubena of The Athletic.

Johnson is 34 years old and had another Pro Bowl season, his third in a row.
While the veteran has dealt with injuries over the years, he remains effective on the right side of the offensive line and will be key in keeping Jalen Hurts clean against Kansas City.
It’s anyone’s guess how many more years Johnson will play, but the Eagles must be relieved that he’ll be back for the 2025 season.
