Offense is the name of the game in the NFL.

However, if you speak to a Cowboys fan this season, you might get a different answer considering the team missed the playoffs with arguably the most dynamic offense in the NFL.

So let me rephrase: Offense is the name of the game in the NFL as long as you have a somewhat competent defense.

Dallas led the league in most offensive stats, but unfortunately, were near the bottom of the league in nearly every defensive stat.

It was a defensive failure of epic proportions, but it did not stop the Cowboys from putting together one of the most prolific offensive performances in the NFL.

That offensive dominance starts with the Terror Twins, as they’ve been dubbed.

Wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens were one of just four tandems in the NFL to each record over 1,000 yards receiving in 2025.

Worth the Pick

Fans were ecstatic last offseason when Cowboys’ President and General Manager, Jerry Jones, shipped off a third round pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for disgruntled WR George Pickens.

The trade ended up being worth the risk, as Pickens not only led the Cowboys in receptions (93), yards (1,429), and touchdowns (9), but finished near the top in the entire league.

Pairing Pickens’ play-making ability with Lamb’s smooth route-running created a dream scenario for QB Dak Prescott and the offense.

Combined with a strong running game, Lamb also finished with over 1,000 yards receiving for the fifth consecutive season, ending the year with a 75/1,077/3 stat line.

Lamb caught over 100 yards in a game six times this season, while Pickens did it in five games.

The duo never once recorded over 100 yards receiving in the same game, but I see that as a sign of how well they complement each other.

When Lamb received double teams or bracket coverage, it was Pickens’ time to shine, and vise versa.

Not All Alone at the Top

As prolific as the Lamb and Pickens duo was in 2025, they weren’t the only pair of teammates to accomplish this feat.

As a duo, the Cowboys’ playmakers recorded 168 receptions for 2,506 yards and 12 touchdowns.

A handful of other duos challenged them for the top spot.

TE Trey McBride (1,239)/WR Michael Wilson (1,006), Arizona Cardinals

Arizona features the only duo in 2025 to include a tight end as part of their two-headed 1,000-yard duo.

McBride has been a feature of the passing attack since last season, and was supposed to be accompanied by WR Marvin Harrison Jr., but injuries foiled that plan.

Instead, 2023 3rd-round pick Michael Wilson made a late push to finish just over the 1,000-yard threshold.

Wilson topped 100 yards three times in the final few weeks, including 15 receptions for 185 yards versus San Francisco, and an 11/142/2TD stat line against the Rams.

WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (1,401)/WR Jameson Williams (1,117), Detroit Lions
