Many NFL teams are feeling down after their Week 4 performances. Yet you’d be hard-pressed to find one more disappointed in this Sunday’s results than Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.
Not only did they fall to 1-3, they did so by getting demolished by the Kansas City Chiefs, 37-20. Making matters worse, the Ravens’ two-time NFL MVP QB got hurt in the second half, and he didn’t return to the game.
While the loss already leaves a sour note within the locker room, the far bigger concern focuses on Jackson’s health.
According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Jackson suffered a “hamstring strain.”
A better analysis, including his recovery timetable, will be available on Monday once Jackson’s MRI results come back.
For now, all we know is that Jackson felt a “grab” in his hamstring, leading to his removal from the game in a game that already largely felt decided.
Jackson completed 14-of-20 passes for 147 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. He also added 48 rushing yards on six rush attempts, including a lost fumble.
Next up, will be the Houston Texans, who, like the Ravens, are surprisingly entering Week 5 with a 1-3 record. If all goes well, they’ll have Jackson in the starting lineup. If not, we could see a heavier dose of backup QB Cooper Rush.
Rush completed 9-of-13 passes for 52 yards in relief of Jackson. The Ravens also have Tyler ‘Snoop’ Huntley on the practice squad.
