All signs continue to point toward the reigning league MVP receiving back-to-back honors and the third of his career.

The individual accolades and honors for Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson for his historically great 2024 campaign continued to stack up on Wednesday. He was revealed as the Most Valuable Player in the NFL by the Pro Football Writers of America Association and Offensive Player of the Year by The Committee of 101.

These are just more indications that the two-time Associated Press league MVP winner is destined to receive his third next month. In each of his previous seasons of receiving the honor, Jackson was named the PFWA’s league MVP as well. Another key indication was the fact that he was named AP First Team All Pro with 30 first-place votes to Josh Allen’s 18 with the significance being that the same people who vote on those designations also vote on the MVP award.

The Committee of 101 was founded in 1969 and is comprised of a nationwide panel of 101 sportswriters and broadcasters who cover the NFL throughout the season.

In 2024, Jackson led the Ravens to a second straight AFC North title and the fourth time since he’s been the full-time starter after being the catalyst for a record-setting offense in which he set new career highs in passing yards (4,172), touchdown passes (41), quarterback rating (119.6) and completions (316).

As a runner, he led the league in rushing yards by a quarterback with 915, became the first player in league history with at least 4,000 passing yards and 800 rushing yards and surpassed his childhood idol, Michael Vick, for the top spot on the all-time rushing leader at quarterback with 6,173 yards.

“I’m just really happy [and] blessed to have watched him play football this year,” Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said Wednesday. “I want Lamar relax a little bit and think back to what we accomplished as a team and what he accomplished individually.”
