Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has been in the NFL since the 2018 season. In 2026, he will be playing for his second coach. The Ravens, who missed the playoffs after losing to the Steelers on Sunday in Week 18, fired John Harbaugh. It ended his 18-year tenure with the team.
The Baltimore Ravens have aggressively pursued multiple head coaching candidates during their search to replace John Harbaugh. Those names include former Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski. They have also interviewed Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph.
When it comes to Harbaugh’s replacement, Jackson certainly has his eyes on somebody. Lamar Jackson cleared his stance on one of the candidates for the Ravens’ head coach position. The two-time NFL MVP has picked Seahawks’ offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. he made that clear during an appearance on the “I Am Athlete” podcast.
“I ain’t gonna lie, Klint different,” Jackson said. “I been watching his stuff. He really be in his bag. Defenses gotta defend the whole field. He make it easy on the QB & let playmakers just go be great. That’s tough.”

Klint Kubiak is the son of former Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak. The 38-year-old worked alongside Kyle Shanahan with the 49ers. He also served as the Minnesota Vikings’ offensive coordinator. Lamar Jackson might be happy to know that the team interviewed Klint Kubiak on January 9, 2026.
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has played eight NFL seasons and has yet to reach a Super Bowl. The Baltimore Ravens went into Week 18 with a chance to win the AFC North and advance to the playoffs. He did all he could to position his squad to win, but his kicker let him down.
Rookie kicker Tyler Loop came out and missed the kick wide right. A missed penalty by the refs could’ve changed the fortunes of John Harbaugh.
Now, Jackson is slated to play under a new head coach, and he will need to deliver quickly. There will no longer be time for excuses if he gets the head coach he desires. The NFL is a cold business. It’s even colder if you can’t win it all.
