The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is reversing course on what they previously said about Samson Nacua.

Last month, Los Angeles Lakers rookie Adou Thiero had his SUV stolen. The brother of Rams star receiver Puka Nacua was one of two men arrested over it. They allegedly took Thiero’s SUV without consent. Samson Nacua and Trey Rose were charged with vehicular theft. Now things have drastically changed with LAPD reversing course.

Samson and Trey Rose were previously arrested at One Hotel in West Hollywood, California. However, neither Nacua nor Rose will be charged after investigators say the incident was an accident. This entire thing turned out to be a misunderstanding.

Nacua has been in the headlines before. His only professional stints consist of appearances in the UFL. Samson played for the Pittsburgh Maulers and the Michigan Panthers. His time with the Panthers included a one-game suspension for slapping a fan.

What Investigators Say Happened With Samson Nacua & An Apparent Stolen SUV

Two men, including the brother of Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua, were arrested for allegedly taking LA Lakers forward Adou Thiero’s SUV. It turns out that it was all a mistake.

Samson Nacua and 27-year-old Trey Rose were arrested over nothing. Deputies later learned that Samson Nacua took Thiero’s car, thinking it was his Puka Nacua’s SUV. The athletes both have the same car model and color. Investigators told NBC4 Investigates that Puka Nacua’s car was about a year or two older than Thiero’s SUV.

Thiero didn’t press charges against Nacua, concluding that the incident was a mistake, NBC4 reports. Charges against Nacua and Rose were dropped. The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department requested that the LA County Attorney’s office reject the case.

Samson Nacua’s name was thrown in the mud over the incident, but at least everything was fixed in the end.
