L.A. Rams News: It’s fine to struggle in June
Turf Show Times Turf Show Times

Reports are emerging that neither Stetson Bennett or Ty Simpson have been wowing anyone for the Los Angeles Rams. Reportedly both have been struggling in their attempts to win the backup quarterback role. I get that it’s worth talking about, but it’s also only June. Make your mistakes in June, July and August. Heck, you can make mistakes during the regular season, BUT you better learn from them fast.

At this point, it’s nothing to worry about. Both players are learning. If anything, it’s more disturbing that Bennett hasn’t separated himself given that he’s not a first-time rookie. He’s been with the Rams for a couple seasons, and if he’s not starting to put it together, yet, that could be a concern.

I’ll keep saying this: There seems to be some quarterback competition in L.A. and that’s interesting. However, it’s not anything to be concerned about. Not yet. But if you want to panic I say, go for it! Root for this team how you want to root for it!

It’s Thursday. We are closer than ever to Friday. Thank you for checking out Turf Show Times and have a great day!

“For the Los Angeles Rams, their two options present two different dilemmas. Simpson is a first-round pick, the clear heir to Matthew Stafford, and a player who has a higher perceived ceiling than Bennett.

Bennett, on the other hand, knows the system like the back of his hand, has worked closely with assistants Nate Scheelhaase and Dave Ragone under Sean McVay, and has made tremendous strides in his development over the last few years, putting together an impressive 2025 preseason.”

It took awestruck JJ Watt to perfectly capture Rams’ Myles Garrett mindset (ramblinfan)

“Watt is not alone. Players and analysts alike were wowed by the Rams’ relentless pursuit of top-tier talent – whatever the cost. The results of Snead’s chase this offseason: Trent McDuffie, Jaylen Watson and Garrett. Hopefully, that proves enough to get the Horns over the hump for another Super Bowl win.

Rams have cracked the code to extended success

Snead does not tinker with his personnel to sell merchandise or tickets. Over years of trial and error, he has discovered a successful formula: build a successful cast of characters to win consistently, then push the roster to new heights by carefully adding on one or two superstars who fit the team’s culture.”

Rams’ Ty Simpson Gets Worrying News Before First Training Camp (heavy.com)

“The Los Angeles Rams drafted the former Alabama quarterback with the 13th overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft, a move considered the biggest surprise of the draft.

Simpson didn’t get much playing time with the Crimson Tide, only becoming a starter in his final collegiate season before being selected by LA. In his final season in ‘Bama, the QB threw for 3,567 passing yards and 28 passing touchdowns in 15 games — Simpson threw for...
