Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon announced to the media today that quarterback Kyler Murray will not return this season due his foot injury.

This will likely be the end of the Kyler Murray era in Arizona, and signals that Gannon and his staff will start to try and find another quarterback to pair with Jacoby Brissett as they try and salvage their careers in Arizona.

Murray was the first overall pick in 2019, was the 2019 Offensive Rookie of the Year, then made the Pro Bowl in 2020 and 2021.

In his career Murray was 38-48-1, and 0-1 in the playoffs.

Murray finishes third in Cardinals history and first in Arizona Cardinals history in passing yards, and third in passing touchdowns (First for any player all in Arizona).

The Cardinals have not made anything official, but all signs point to looking to move on from Murray this offseason as they plan to move in another direction.
