San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan has been accused of diming Sam Darnold out after losing to the Seattle Seahawks.
Seattle made light work of the NFC Championship hopefuls on Saturday night, posting no entry signs in the end zones to the tune of a 41-6 victory.
Darnold was listed as questionable coming into the game. The quarterback suffered an oblique injury during practice on Thursday, which prevented him from throwing until pregame on Saturday.
He wasn’t even a full participant in warmups.
The Seahawks made life easier for him by running the ball, claiming 175 yards on the ground from 33 carries.
He only needed to throw 17 passes, 12 of which were completed for 124 yards. He also didn’t commit any turnovers, which is always great.
Shanahan was well aware that the QB was on painkillers, intimating as much to reporters after his team lost.
“Warmups are like that, but it takes a while for the Toradol to kick in,” he said.“So we knew he’d be fine once kickoff came. Which doesn’t really have to do with pressure. Sometimes it can affect how they throw, but usually when that Toradol kicks in, it doesn’t. Sam played really well today.”
One fan thought he was “dry snitching.”

The Seahawks also handed their QB the best start possible by scoring a touchdown before he even got onto the field.
A date against the winner of Sunday’s Rams-Bears game awaits.
