The New England Patriots have a lot of attention surrounding them as they head into their Week 6 matchup with the New Orleans Saints. One of the biggest storylines ahead of the game, though, involves the Saints and their star running back Alvin Kamara.
After they took down the Buffalo Bills in Week 5, the media have been gushing over the Patriots all week long. However, they still have a lot of work to do, and that involves taking down New Orleans when they take the field next.
Similar to the Pats, the Saints are feeling pretty good about themselves heading into this one. They just earned their first victory of the season against the New York Giants last week, and they have generally managed to hold their own this year, despite having virtually no expectations surrounding them.
One potential issue for New Orleans is an ankle injury that has resulted in Kamara being questionable for this game. And yet, even with that ailment, reports have emerged indicating that Kamara is expected to suit up for this game.
“Saints RB Alvin Kamara, listed as questionable for Sunday due to an ankle injury, is expected to play vs. the Patriots, per sources,” Adam Schefter of ESPN reported in a post on X.
Kamara has long been one of the most dangerous dual-threat running backs in the league, and he’s enjoyed a strong start to the season, racking up 283 yards and one touchdown on the ground, while also catching 17 passes for 77 yards.
If he weren’t able to go, Kendre Miller would earn more snaps out of the backfield, but it seems like Kamara is good to go. He will have a tall task going up against the Patriots’ front seven, though, as they have yet to allow a running back to rush for more than 50 yards in each of their first five games.
