Ken Anderson not among three senior finalists for Pro Football Hall of Fame

The legendary QB gets overlooked once again.

Ken Anderson is a Cincinnati Bengals legend and objectively one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game.

He won four passing titles and an MVP. And he was one of the most accurate passers in league history. In fact, the analytics show he’s up there with the likes of Joe Montana and Steve Young.

But with all that, he still got passed over by the nine-person committee that determines senior finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Instead, the committee decided to move forward with Maxie Baughan (linebacker, Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams), Sterling Sharpe (receiver, Green Bay Packers), and Jim Tyrer (offensive tackle, Kansas City Chiefs).

It’s unfortunate, especially since Anderson seemed so close. John Sheeran of A to Z Sports pointed out that Anderson, Baughan, and Sharpe were the only candidates to reach the semifinals in all three years of the existence of the senior category.

Bengals fans can only hope he finally gets over the hump next year.

Meanwhile, the Bengals QB who most resembles Anderson in accuracy, Joe Burrow, will try to get win number five in Dallas against the Cowboys on Monday Night Football.
