Keion White’s early impressions of New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel have been fine.

That’s not to say White has a negative opinion on the former Coach of the Year, to be clear. But White, unlike others, didn’t exactly offer a glowing review either.

“I think he’s a pretty good coach,” White told reporters after Day 3 of training camp at Gillette Stadium on Friday.

Why?

“Because he helps me get better,” White responded.

The third-year pass-rusher credited Vrabel for helping with his technique, specifically.

It’s worth nothing White’s previous comments of Vrabel included a bit more praise.

“I like him ’cause he’s a hardass,” White told WEEI’s Ted Johnson in mid-June. “So, like, I really don’t like a buddy-buddy, everybody’s-kumbaya coach. So, he’s like, the first thing is work. And if we lead with work, then everything else will take care of itself.”

White, who expressed frustration with Jerod Mayo and his coaching staff in 2024, indicated if Vrabel’s teachings translate to wins, it’ll impact his outlook.

“My biggest working relationship is whether we’re winning or losing, so that’s big for me,” White said. “And then you just go from there. So, is he a good coach, and how can he make me better? And that’s the biggest relationship I have. Everything else will take care of itself.”
