The Cleveland Browns have a lot of improvements to make before they’re ready to contend for a playoff spot and a possible championship, but they took a big step toward that in the NFL Draft this offseason.
Cleveland addressed a lot of needs, most notably at wide receiver. The Browns took Texas A&M wideout KC Concepcion with the No. 24 overall pick before scooping up Washington’s Denzel Boston at No. 39 overall.
Now, Concepcion has officially signed his rookie deal, and it is a very notable one. The first-round pick is getting a four-year deal worth $20 million fully guaranteed, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
The Browns are no stranger to giving out fully guaranteed deals after giving quarterback Deshaun Watson one, albeit for a lot more money. Watson is still playing on that deal despite falling short of expectations and suffering from some serious injuries, but maybe the addition of someone like Concepcion can help him get back to a high level.
The Texas A&M product has a versatile and explosive skillset that should be on full display in 2025. During his time in College Station, he showed the ability to impact the game on special teams as a return specialist as well as on offense.
Concepcion has elite speed that can help him take underneath passes the distance or beat cornerbacks over the top down the field. As a result, Todd Monken will be able to use him in a lot of different ways in his first year as head coach.
After this deal, the quarterback position will go back to being the main focus for Browns fans throughout the offseason. Watson and Shedeur Sanders are battling it out for the starting spot during minicamp, and that battle is expected to continue into training camp and the preseason.
No matter who ends up as the starter, one thing is clear. Whoever starts for the Browns this fall will have a much better situation around them than there was in 2025, and the addition of Concepcion on the outside is a big reason why.
