Cincinnati Bengals star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson made headlines this week when he told reporters he would not play this season under his current contract, which got Kay Adams so fired up she’s debated spending an hour talking about the topic on her show Up & Adams.
Taking to social media on the Tuesday night following Bengals pass rusher Trey Hendrickson’s comments — last year’s NFL sack leader is set to make $15.8 million in base salary this season in the final year of his deal — Kay Adams said that she “may do 60 minutes straight on” Hendrickson.
Unfortunately for Kay Adams, which happens quite often with her give her Hollywood looks, her words were taken out of context and turned into a meme.

According to Hendrickson, his negotiations with the Steelers have either stalled or devolved to such a point that he now has difficulty taking it as anything else than “personal.”
Hendrickson is currently the 11th best-paid pass rusher in the NFL behind Myles Garrett, Danielle Hunter, Maxx Crosby, Nick Bosa, Josh-Hines Allen, T.J. Watt, Montez Sweat, Rashan Gray and Andrew Van Ginkel.
“I think over the last week or so it’s become personal, unfortunately. And when there’s a lack of communication in any relationship, whether it’s a business or personal relationship, lack of communication leads to animosity, and that leaves my narrative only to me with no clear direction,” Hendrickson told reporters on Tuesday after sitting out the offseason workouts.
“And that, with the lack of communication post-draft, made it evidently clear for my party, meaning my wife, my son, my agent, right, like we’re talking a small group of people, that I had to inform that this might not work out. And that’s unfortunate, I don’t think it was necessary, I think we all should have hoped for the best until proved otherwise, but through that other things have transpired, like the importance of me being here in OTAs doesn’t seem to be respected, and I think I’ve carried a lot of respect. I don’t mean to insinuate anything about anyone’s character, but that was disappointing.”
Hendrickson, 30 years old, was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the 3rd round of the 2017 NFL Draft and remained with the team through the 2020 season. Hendrickson joined the Bengals in 2021, which is when his career took off, as he’s now had 17.5 sacks in consecutive seasons, which was also the most in the NFL last year.
