Karma is the Guy on the Chiefs Getting Rolled by the Eagles in the Super Bowl

“What is going on?”

Well I’ll tell you what’s going on. First, the building was full of Eagles fans, and her boyfriend plays for the Chiefs. Second, we thought she was supposed to be a Birds fan through her local (yes, local) upbringing and her father’s fandom, but apparently that is not the case. Third, she endorsed Kamala Harris and Travis Kelce promoted the COVID shot, so the pro-Trump/MAGA portion of NFL fans don’t like her. And fourth, finally, some people are just sick of seeing her in general, though, to be fair, the broadcast barely showed her at all on Sunday night.

So that’s the reason she was booed. Surely she is aware of this, no? Does this woman not have a humongous PR staff or a single publicist? Did anyone on that staff pay attention to any of the fandom talk leading up to the game? She showed up wearing a white blazer with knee-high white boots, a white tank top and bedazzled blue shorts. She didn’t wear red or green. All she had to do was show up looking like Brady Quinn’s sister and wear a half-Eagles, half-Chiefs jersey sewn together in the middle and everyone would have gone home happy. That’s your fashion analysis, I’m Karl Lagerfeld.

Meantime, let’s talk about a real celebrity Eagles fan, Anne Hathaway.

Did you know she was a Birds fan? Yeah, me neither. Kyle Scott wrote a story about this 14 years ago with a headline image showing her wearing an Eagles hat. She was born in Brooklyn and raised in North Jersey but her parents have Philadelphia roots and met at La Salle in the 1970s and I believe that’s the extent of the reason for her Birds fandom. Apparently she is a big sports fan in general and plays fantasy football.
