The Kansas City Chiefs are not having a typical season, and there are now claims that things will continue to trend in such a direction.
The Chiefs were eliminated from the playoffs after losing to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 15. They lost quarterback Patrick Mahomes in that same game.
Mahomes, arguably the best quarterback of the current generation, is done for 2025. The 30-year-old has undergone surgery on an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, but is a doubt to start next season healthy.
Still, he is said to have set that very timeline for himself, albeit having been urged to sit out all of 2026.
Meanwhile, the team has been at loggerheads with the city council of Kansas City, Missouri, for months. And, as such, one reporter has made claims of the team gearing up to announce a move to Kansas on Monday.
According to Sportsradio 810 WHB’s Soren Petro, Chiefs officials will attend a meeting in Topeka, Kansas, on Monday. Petro expects an announcement of a move sometime after that.
“There is a meeting scheduled in Topeka on Monday. I’m being told the Chiefs are scheduled to be at that meeting, however the Royals are not. Barring a last minute “screw up by someone at the top” announcing the Chiefs are moving to Kansas will happen after that meeting,” he wrote.

While there’s some doubt over this, there seems to be plenty of concern.
“People don’t understand the financial ramifications that will occur in Kansas City, MO if this happens. Let alone if the state of Missouri loses another NFL team. They won’t get another one,” a fan wrote.

“The rich guys are gonna do what makes them the most money. They don’t care about homefield advantage if it means less money. Sincerely-A chargers fan from San Diego,” another claimed.

***“Can’t call yourself the Kansas City Chiefs if you’re not in Kansas City limits. Traitors if they move. I won’t be a fan anymore. Was a fan when they were 2-14 and believed each year they would turn it around. But won’t be if they move. It’s...
