Julian Edelman will be enshrined into the New England Patriots Hall of Fame on Saturday.

It’s an extremely well-deserved earned honor, with the former wide receiver slated to be inducted alongside former head coach Bill Parcells in the courtyard outside of Gillette Stadium.

Edelman, who sits near the top of the franchise’s leaderboard in receptions (2nd; 620) and receiving yards (4th; 6,822), as well as the league’s postseason leaderboard in receptions (3rd; 118), discussed some of his career highlights during a session with media when receiving his red jacket on Friday — which included an ode of sorts to his infamous playoff beard.

“It smelled — at the end of a game, with the dip spit and the frozeness of it — and it was always a pain to eat,” Edelman said when asked if he missed rocking the signature look, per video provided by Kevin Stone of New England Football Journal. “I would always have smoothies, I’d have to shower after I ate. No, I don’t miss it.”

Yep, I believe it.

Edelman is rocking a much more put-together look these days, which is likely appreciated by his new bosses at FOX. You can check out how one of Tom Brady’s favorite targets is looking during the induction ceremony, which will be broadcast live on YouTube on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET.
