Joy Taylor has hinted that she might not continue with a career in sports media following FOX’s decision regarding her contract.
The network won’t retain Taylor for the 2025 season, with the announcement dropping earlier in July.
It comes months after she was named in a lawsuit from a former FOX hairstylist who claims she was a victim of verbal abuse from Taylor, whom she also accused of sleeping with former exec Charlie Dixon and on-air personality Emmanuel Acho.
Acho is also leaving the network, with FOX having decided to cancel shows ‘Speak’ and ‘The Facility’.
Taylor made an appearance on The Ringer’s ‘Higher Learning’ podcast this week, where she admitted that the accusations and the scrutiny that came with them sucked the joy out of working for her.
She claimed to have no idea when she might get it back or if it would happen at all.
The 38-year-old also teased that she could move on to an entirely different space because she doesn’t plan to be “70 with a mic.”
“I want to build things for other people to have spaces… not being front-facing allows you the space to still create, but not have this responsibility. And this comes with a lot responsibility, especially if you’re somebody like me,” she explained.
It sounds as if Joy Taylor wants to launch a platform for others to create content, and she may already have plans in mind.
Whatever she does, we’ll likely find out as soon as she sets things in motion, given her heavy presence on social media.
We wish her the best in her future endeavours.
