FS1’s Joy Taylor couldn’t help but take a shot at President Donald Trump during a sports Mount Rushmore discussion during a recent episode of “Speak.”
Donald Trump has been vocal about his desire to have the historic Mount Rushmore monument expanded so that his face can be carved alongside the existing heads of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt.
On last Friday’s edition of “Speak”, Joy Taylor, Paul Pierce and Keyshawn Johnson discussed their “Mount Rushmore of American Athletes.” During the conversation, Taylor threw a dig at the president.
“The real Mount Rushmore would need to be bigger. Trump’s trying to expand it..so eventually we’ll have five…We can chisel another face on there. Will they spray paint it orange?”
Trump has floated all sorts of wild ideas during his political career, so who knows how serious and hopeful he is about being added to Mount Rushmore? Remember, he recently expressed a desire to seek a third presidential term, even though the United States constitution forbids such a thing.

As for the Mount Rushmore debate on “Speak”, Keyshawn Johnson went with Michael Jordan, Jackie Robinson, Tiger Woods and Serena Williams. Paul Pierce went with Jordan, Williams, Floyd Mayweather and Simone Biles.
Joy Taylor picked Williams, Robinson, Jesse Owens and Muhammad Ali.
If Donald Trump’s wish to have his faced carved into Mount Rushmore becomes a reality, well, it will at least become easier for fans to settle their “Mount Rushmore” debates.
Back in May, Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports reported that Joy Taylor’s deal with FS1 runs up in the summer. At this time, it’s not clear whether the network and Taylor are in negotiations and if both sides are keen on extending the partnership.
The 38-year-old Taylor joined Fox Sports in 2016 and spent two years moderating “Undisputed” with Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe. In the fall of 2022, she took over as a co-host for “Speak.”
