According to Packers.com’s Weston Hodkiewicz, Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs told the press after his team’s tie with the Dallas Cowboys, that he was cleated on his knee on his rushing touchdowns and had to receive stitches on the sideline. “That was it,” he said.
Jacobs later returned to the game, so there doesn’t seem to be any worry that it’ll be some sort of long-term injury. The Packers also have a bye week in Week 5, so their next game won’t come until Week 6 against the Cincinnati Bengals on October 12th.
After coming back into the game, Jacobs took five carries for 15 yards on the ground and a reception for 25 yards. With that being said, all four of the running back touches in overtime went to Emanuel Wilson, the number two running back on the team, not Jacobs.
Hopefully, this week out of the facility will help the Packers. Per the collective bargaining agreement, all players must receive at least four consecutive days off during a bye week, essentially a non-contact period for the club.
