In his post-walkthrough press conference on Tuesday, Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur provided updates on the team’s key injuries. According to LaFleur, both running back Josh Jacobs (knee) and cornerback Keisean Nixon (neck) are going to be game-time decisions versus the Detroit Lions, so you can go ahead and assume that they’ll be listed as questionable on the Packers’ final injury report of the week on Wednesday.

Jacobs missed last week’s action after suffering a bone bruise against the New York Giants the week prior. In his place, Emanuel Wilson took 39 carries to Chris Brooks’ 9 against the Minnesota Vikings and Giants. Practice squad running back Pierre Strong Jr. was called up against Minnesota last week, but he didn’t play a single snap for the offense or special teams.

Nixon went down with a stinger against the Vikings and was replaced by Kamal Hadden, who played his first NFL regular-season defensive snaps in his career on Sunday. There’s a chance that Nate Hobbs (knee), who has been out several weeks, could come back and displace Hadden as Nixon’s injury replacement if Nixon can’t go against the Lions.

Beyond those two players, LaFleur stated that defensive end Lukas Van Ness, who played just six snaps on Sunday in his return from his foot injury, did not have a setback. As LaFleur described it, Van Ness is day to day, and the team thought that he would be further along, but they learned that he wasn’t during last week’s action.

LaFleur also wouldn’t tell the press whether receiver Jayden Reed (foot/shoulder) was going to be activated for the game against Detroit. Reed is coming back from foot surgery and collarbone surgery, but his practice window opened up last Friday. The Packers have 21 days from last Friday to activate Reed to the 53-man roster.

When asked about Reed’s status against the Lions, LaFleur responded, “You’ll find out on Thursday.” For what it’s worth, the only healthy scratches on the 53-man roster last week for Green Bay were offensive lineman Donovan Jennings and kicker Lucas Havrisik. The Packers tend to like to keep double-digit offensive linemen on the roster, and Jennings is only the team’s ninth lineman, so there’s a chance that the promotion of Reed means the end of Havrisik’s time in Green Bay.
