Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen had a terrific Sunday afternoon against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Bills began another quest for the Super Bowl against Trevor Lawrence and Co. at EverBank Stadium.
When many thought a loss could ruin his legacy, Allen showed up and showed out, going 28 of 35 for 273 yards and one touchdown, adding 33 yards and two rushing touchdowns on 11 carries.
With the Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals out of contention, the Bills don’t seem to have big competition to advance to the Super Bowl. They have the experience and the reigning MVP in their favor. However, Allen doesn’t seem to be getting much love after taking his team to the playoffs again.
After such a remarkable performance, Josh Allen’s MVP odds still leve something to be desired.
Allen played at a high level again this season, but oddsmakers have overlooked him in the race for the coveted award. DraftKings Sportsbook doesn’t have him near the top after the wild-card round.
According to their odds, Los Angeles Rams’ Matthew Stafford ranks No. 1, followed by Drake Maye, Trevor Lawrence, Caleb Williams, and then Josh Allen.
It remains to be seen if the odds will be changed at some point this week. Allen beat Lawrence, who threw a pick to end his team’s chances to succeed this season and give the Bills the right to advance to the divisional round. However, MVP voting only accounts for what happens during the regular season.
Allen and Co. will visit the Denver Broncos on Saturday, hoping to stay alive in the playoff race. This time, it could be with Allen’s wife, Hailee Steinfeld, by his side.
