Allen understands this summer’s assignment: Don’t upset mom.
As the reigning NFL MVP, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen understands the microscope is fine-tuned to focus in on his every move, on and off the field. Allen’s ascendance since entering the NFL in 2018 is the stuff of football legend — a zero-star recruit who garnered little interest and no scholarships from top college programs before settling in at Reedley Community College en route to Wyoming University.
While already an all-time NFL quarterback, Allen is also a trash-talker for the ages. Inaudible during broadcasts, Allen’s jawing matches with opponents has earned him a bit of a reputation.
Now that the Bills are the featured training camp team for HBO’s “Hark Knocks” series this summer, Allen understands that what he says may be under the same microscope as what he does on the gridiron. To that end, Allen reportedly will do his best “not to cuss as much,” per Dom Tibbetts. While HBO is known for pulling almost no punches in the censor room, Allen says that he wants his mom to enjoy watching the show.
Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills enter the 2025 NFL season intent on reaching Super Bowl LX after what will at that point have been a 32-year layoff. As a franchise, the Bills have not played in a Super Bowl since the last of their four straight appearances in the big game — on January 30, 1994.
Be sure to check out Allen and the rest of the Bills and more this summer on HBO.
