Pending free agent Jordan Phillips wants to re-sign in Buffalo.
The Buffalo Bills were able to sign defensive tackle Jordan Phillips during the 2024 season as a replacement option for their trouble defensive tackle position. He’s not a world-beater, but he was an upgrade and played a lot of games for them down the stretch as a rotational piece.
At locker clean out on Monday following the disappointing loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Phillips all but signed his next contract with Buffalo.
“I’m not retiring … but this is the only place I’m gonna play,” said Phillips via Alaina Getzenberg, while saying he told the Bills that if they call, he’ll come back.
Phillips played for a total of $2.3ish million in 2024 split between the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and Buffalo Bills. The veteran minimum for a player with his experience is $1.255 million in 2025. If they gave him a small signing bonus of $167,500, they could still count him under the NFL’s Veteran Salary Benefit.
Free agency kicks off in mid-March, but Phillips may also want to skip offseason workouts and come back sometime during training camp.
