Chase and Big Joe had a great interview with the former Titans GM.

Chase and Big Joe had former Tennessee Titans general manager Jon Robinson on their show this morning. To my knowledge, it was the first interview JRob has done since he was fired as the Titans' GM. If you haven’t heard the interview yet, you can check it out here. They did a great job asking him the questions that fans wanted to hear.

To Robinson’s credit, he was pretty candid in his answers. Of course, there are things that he cannot talk about because he most likely signed an NDA after he was fired. Robinson, when asked about the infamous A.J. Brown trade, said it was an organizational decision. You can read into that what you will, but it confirms that no one in that room was shocked when it went down on draft night. It’s still safe to say that Mike Vrabel, even though he knew it was a possibility, was not thrilled when it actually happened.

They also asked him about Isaiah Wilson. He blamed a lot of that on COVID, which is probably somewhat fair. Robinson basically said that the person they got once he was drafted was different than the person they thought they were getting. No surprise there.

There was quite a bit of talk about Caleb Farley as well. Robinson attributed the lack of success Farley had as a player to the knee injury he suffered and the tragedy with his house, where his father died. That is probably somewhat fair, but the process of selecting Farley was bad, coming off the major back injuries he had in college.

JRob is a really likeable dude. It’s a shame things didn’t work out for him here. It will be interesting to see if he gets another shot.
