Jon Gruden may no longer be the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, but his son remains with the organization. And he’s now left his mark on the city.

Deuce Gruden was hired as the team’s strength and conditioning coach during his father’s tenure and didn’t follow him out when he was forced to resign.

It appears the Raiders were not misled in keeping him on staff, as he has gone on to achieve an incredible feat.

The younger Gruden benched 483 pounds to set a new powerlifting record for his weight class in Vegas. And it’s safe to assume that no one was prouder than his old man.

“My son Deuce broke the powerlifting record last night for his weight class in Las Vegas! 483 pound bench press!” the former head coach wrote in a tweet on Sunday, also sharing a video.

Eagle-eyed fans would have probably noticed the stock 5’6” trainer on the Raiders sideline during games. He’s already been around going on eight years.

Jon Gruden Hints At Raiders Return

Meanwhile, it appears that the older Gruden has his designs on returning to coach the team.

He recently took to X to post a GIF of a Raiders flag. Pete Carroll hadn’t even been fired at the time.

Jon Gruden resigned from his position as head coach in 2021, having returned to the team in 2018. He stepped down following the leak of personal emails that contained offensive and discriminatory language.

He clearly wants to remain in football in any capacity and has worked as a consultant with various teams over the last few years. He’s also joined Barstool Sports as an analyst.

The Raiders have interviewed Matt Nagy, Vance Joseph, Klint Kubiak, Davis Webb, Ejiro Evero, and Chris Shula since the end of Week 18.

They aren’t reported to have made any contact with Gruden.
