Drake and Manziel became friends when Manziel was the starting quarterback at Texas A&M.
His “Draft Day” track mentions Manziel and the 2014 NFL draft. Manziel also has an “OVO” tattoo on his wrist.
This week, he became even more part of the OVO family.
Manziel proudly showed off his official OVO “Iceman” chain, which Drake gifted to him. The chain celebrated 10 years of loyalty from those who stayed solid by his side.

As we all know, Drake has lost quite a few friends he believes turned their backs on him amid his beef with Kendrick Lamar. The biggest name is LeBron James, who caused the Canadian-born rapper to cover up the tattoo he once had of his high school jersey.
Athletes like Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry have stayed by his side. Unfortunately, Drake’s friendship with Demar Derozan is over as well.
Former Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel has been friends with Drake since college.
In 2023, he took to Instagram to thank Drake for bringing him out during his walk through the crowd before his concert in Houston.
“Honored to be a part of your journey @champagnepapi,” Manziel wrote in a post that included a video of the walk and a photo of them doing their signature handshake.
“You and your music have changed my life for the better. Thank you for letting the kid from Texas share that moment with you.”
