John Harbaugh seems to know which team he plans to turn around for the next few years.
The Ravens fired Harbaugh after the team failed to make the playoffs. As soon as the announcement was made, the market for his services heated up immediately. The former Ravens head coach only planned to conduct interviews with three or four teams. One of those teams was the New York Giants.
New York fired head coach Brian Daboll during the 2025 season. Earlier this week, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported that the Giants made an offer of $20 million per year. They wanted to show John Harbaugh just how much they wanted him.
The Giants flew Harbaugh in this Wednesday so they could discuss their opening at head coach. Well, it seems things have gone great. Popular social media user Rickey Scoops claims that a deal is expected to happen within the next 24 hours.
“Harbaugh flew to NJ to meet with the #Giants and are hoping to keep him in the building until they agree to terms,” the post from Rickey Scoops states.
“Giants are his first choice. Joe Schoen’s role remains unclear, but it’s not a roadblock. There should be an official announcement today or tomorrow.”
It would be easy to dismiss this rumor. However, Rickey Scoops called the trade of Micah Parsons being sent to the Packers before anyone else.
John Harbaugh was successful for 18 years with Baltimore by doing it his way. If he can do something similar for a struggling franchise, he will forever be loved. The 63-year-old Harbaugh ranks 12th among head coaches in NFL history for most wins, with 193. Harbaugh’s record with the Baltimore Ravens over 18 seasons was 180-113 in the regular season. He was 13-11 in the playoffs, culminating in a Super Bowl XLVII victory.
